Data we use and on which base we use it

While you use our website the following data is stored and processed:

With each access to an element of the website we store the following information to “log files” to ensure the functionality and security of our website.

The log files are stored for max. 7 days and are deleted afterwards. The data will be used to make sure that the website works correctly and to detect misuse of the website. In case of misuse the data will not be deleted before the investigation is finished.

Analytics und “social” Media

We do not use google analytics nor any other statistics tool, that gives data to third parties. We also do not use plugins or links to “social” media.


We use a session cookie to store the session information. That is necessary to keep your data secret and prevents reading and changing by others. The cookie is deleted after the session, e.g. when you close the browser tab. The cookie is not sent or shared with third parties.

Data you enter in the forms and documents you upload

All the data you fill in the form and the documents you upload will be stored in our database for the application process. We need this data for processing your application. The storage and processing is based on §12 of the university law of the State of Baden-Württemberg (LHG = Landeshochschulgesetz). The members of the admission committee add remarks and evaluation values to it that also will be stored.

All application data, accepted and non-accepted, will be forwarded from this special platform for international programmes to the databases for the general programmes and processed there according to the laws

In case of rejection

If your application is not accepted, then your data will be deleted completely latest 1 year after the start of the semester that you applied for.

In case of acceptance

If you application is successfull, then we keep your data until you deregister from the appropriate course plus half a year. After the deregistration we will add your final mark and the deregistration date.

After this period we will delete all documents and remarks, all personal values, but only keep the university of your bachelor's degree, the final mark, the deregistration date and the application ranking value. We need this for statistical purposes and to calculate a factor for the university where you did your bachelor's. See our admission regulations. That means that the data we store do not contain any link to you as a person but are anonymised.
